Friday Night Football

My hubby is out coaching those baby noles to another victory tonight and I am cheering them on from the house. The game is in....somewhere....cant remember the name of the little town but it is near Panama City. Tee says the team is pretty good, but we should be fine. The problem is its raining and they are having to travel...two negatives!! Lets go noles to another victory!!!

My cousin had her baby this Wednesday. A little baby boy, 6lb. 4oz. After a very scary few hours they rushed her to a C-section and all was over in a matter of 10 minutes...seriously 10 MINUTES! I was amazed! And they are both doing good now, went home today.

Thanksgiving was yesterday, very crazy. Momma was called into work right after all the food was done and we were sitting down to eat. Needless to say lunch was delayed about an hour. All was well though we had a great day.

Today has been yucky an raining, but I went shopping anyway!!! Got my hubby's gift (good deal!) and some Bath and Body for me!! YAY!! :-) THought about my blog and that I havent written in a while so I decided to drop a line or two. Hope ya had a great turkey day!

11/6/08

I got to be there while one of the wonders of life happened. One of my best friends gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Roslyn Kate Goram was born Thursday 11/6/08 at 8:51 PM she was 6lbs 15 oz. and 19 inches long. It is truly amazing to be able to watch this little girl start as something so small and grow inside her momma's belly and now she is here in the world! Now I cant wait to watch her grow into a wonderful person. God is GREAT!

I pray that the two recover wonderful and are able to go home, get comfortable and rest.

Adults!

I know that everyone always said it stinks growing up, but I never did realize how much it really does stink. Now dont get me wrong I love the parts of adult life like: being a wife, "coloring", going and doing when I want, having a house, taking care of Duke, and spending all free time (when possible) with my hubby. What I dont like about it though: City of Tallahassee bill, Altell, Embarq, paying for the cars, ok lets just says BILLS, and watching my poor hubby stress over school/career. Neither of us were able to get scholarships, we have as many loans as we can get (HUNTINGDON) and have been denied for ANY type of financial aid (we make too much) so we are basically left with paying for advanced education out of pocket or getting a personal loan from the bank. Ok despite what our WONDERFUL government thinks, we are NOT rich so paying out of pocket is out of the question and personal loan...NO....if we did that we would have basically another car payment. So I was trying to be a supporting wife and told Tee that he could go a head and register and we would make it work. Last night he registered and one semester totaled $2k. I told him that was crazy. I just dont understand why people who want to get an education to better themselves but those who just go to school to keep from working get their school paid for. It just really ticks me off and makes me really think poorly of my government....I think Mickey mouse is who we should elect!

Kt's Shower

So this past weekend was KT's shower and I have to say it was AMAZING! All the planning and worrying really paid off. She had an awesome turn out and Rossi got a lot of really nice stuff. I want to say a big thank you to those of you ladies who came and made the day so special for KT and Rossi. Also I have just a few pics to post. I didn't get to take many because I was hosting :-(. So if you have pics please send to me dawkinstr@embarqmail.com. Thanks!

PARENTS!!

So, I need to vent and I think this is a good place to do it. I have certain cheerleaders (the same ones ALWAYS) that think they do not have to listen, do not have to yell and the one thing that REALLY GETS me is they are not TIGHT! So Thursday nights game was probably the worst I have seen since my first game as a coach. I ended up benching the whole squad...NOTHING I am proud of. I love these girls so much and want them to have fun, but I have to do something because running them ALL the time is not working. It totally breaks my heart to see the same ones trying so hard and giving it their all every single time and then there are those few who dont try at all. So tonight the girls were supposed to run 38 laps because of Thursdays game (no I wasn't really going to make them run ALL 38 but at lest half of that). I had a parents complain about it being too tough and they need to get out of practice on time....NOW LET ME STOP THERE...I understand practice is over at a certain time and I understand that the parents dont want to wait. But when the cheerleaders (only a few) are laying in the gym soaking up the AC DURING practice and making us run late...that is their fault. But the parents dont see it that way, they dont want to wait around...ok so here's a thought...tell your daughter to not waste practice time. PHEW....I feel a lot better. I knew this blog would come in handy.

Hope you all are having a great night...and I hope to see you all tomorrow!! MUAH!

Sick Mondays

I dont know why it is that every time I stay home by like 2:00 I am BORED! I dont stay home from work very much because I cant stand to sit around the house and be bored. But this morning I really didn't feel good and would have bet anything that it would last ALL day. Then here comes 2:30 and I find myself looking around the house for stuff to clean, clothes to fold, etc. The bad part is I did all that yesterday (my typical sunday cleaning). So I got online and got bored with that really easy. Then it hit me, I was looking at a website (cant remember which one) and I saw an advertisement for Tuesday September 23, 2008....SEX AND THE CITY COMES TO DVD!!!! All of a sudden I was so excited I couldn't stop smiling. GIRLS, I gotta get the DVD!!! I didnt know it was already out....I am just so freaking excited!!!

I hope you all are having a great monday and I will talk to yall soon...hope to see ya wednesday!!

Love you girls!

Let me fill ya in!!!

The past few weeks have been a little crazy around the Dawkins household. First I was having these HUGE knots form under my arm...come to find out I have some skin condition (cant remember what it is called) that caused my skin to wrinkle and then shaving allows bacteria in which causes the knots...talk about WEIRD! I asked my mom how many WEIRD things could I possibly have: tonic eye, geographic tongue and no wrinkled pits?!?! GEEZ am I from Venus or something?!?!?

So then, my hubby finally did it!!! HE QUIT HIS JOB!!! Bad news...he doesnt/didnt have another one! So we were a little worried there for about a week and half...then Wednesday he got TWO calls offering him a job. So now he will be working for AHCA (with the state) and on top of it he actually got a raise to take this job!! YAY I can have my hubby back instead of the mean bear that Dr caused him to be!!

Lastly, I have a cheerleader whose family was flooded out of their home during Fay. I can not stop thinking about them and how aweful that must be. Last night her mom showed me pictures and I am telling you what it looks like a pond and not a yard! Poor things!! So my mom and I have been collecting clothes for the family and I took up a collection for a gift card so the cheerleader can go buy some new clothes.

I think that is all that is going on right now in my life. OH by the way GO NOLES!!!!! This is the start of all my FAV NOLES football seasons....from the youngsters (JV. who won lastngith 44-0) through the big dawgs (VARSITY and the COLLEGE!!!)!!! I wish them all a GREAT season and GO NOLES!

Still Alive!

I haven't blogged recently but I thought I would tonight while I had a little time. Thank you girls (and mommas) for coming to my party lastnight...it was so much fun! Cant wait to have you all over again...wish if my hubby has it his way we want to have a couple football parties at the Dawkins!! My husband says "FSU football, friends, a little cold beer, chicken wings...what could be better?" haha...that's Tee!!! So not too much going on in the Dawkins life right now...work and coaching that's what we do best! What a boring post...sorry ladies!!

Duke Update

My pookie is able to stand on all 4 legs again which is SO much better. He is walking on them however looks like a little puppy learning to walk all over again. We are just thankful the meds seem to be working and hopefully soon he will be totally better. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts!

Degenerative Disk Disease

This is the disease my poor pookie has been diagnosed with. Just a short explanation on what this means: two disks in his back had punctured his vertebrae, in doing so causing paralysis to his lower extremities. There are 5 stages to the severity in this disease: 1- mild pain, self-correcting in a few days, 2- moderate to severe pain, 3- partial paralysis but ability to get around, 4- paralysis but ability to feel, 5- paralysis and loss of feeling. Duke is in stage 4. What this means for us as parents is...VERY tough choices. The vet said that she is 98% confident that he will heal through medication, however it is not a permanent fix. After reading the book that she provided me I realized he has a less than 20% chance of recovery without surgery and a less than an 80% chance of recovery with surgery. I know it is probably best to have the surgery, however we really do not have the money to send him to a neurologist for doggies. Not to mention the recovery period, I would have to take off work for at least 2 weeks because they can not be left unattended until the dog gets complete feeling and control over bowl/urine movements back. We are trying the medical treatment first (3 pills every eight hours & 'kennel rest' and absolutely no heights) we are in hopes that this will heal our precious little pookie, however as of right now we can not see any improvement. We ask that you please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is our little man, this is the dog that has the best personality of any animal I have ever met. To leave for work one morning with your little man running around carrying your shoes like he does every morning then coming home from work to a sad, teary-eyed doggie who can not get up or walk, it is one of the most heart breaking things I have dealt with in a while. When people are injured or not feeling well we can talk and explain that but he can not and to look into his eyes and see the pain and him all tense and unable to move just breaks my heart. I apologize for the long blog, but I needed to get this off my chest and my hubby and I have cried together until we can not cry any longer. We appreciate the thoughts and prayers and love from our friends and we will keep you posted on Duke's recovery.

AAHH Rest, Rest, Rest and Work Tomorrow!

Cheer camp is FINALLY over, my goodness let me tell you I am so pooped! We had a great time though only a few minor injuries...one a little more serious than the rest. Hopefully though the girls will rest over the next week and come practice next week be ready to show me what they learned this week. Speaking of, they learned a LOT! 2 cheers, 6 chants, 2 dances, and 4 DIFFERENT stunts....yea they are def saying "Coach we cant remember all this!" but I know they can. Other than cheer camp ending, nothing really exciting in my life...sorry this is a boring read. :-(

HOWEVER, I will have to say missing girl's night this week (and Erin in JAX) I am FOR SURE feeling some NEEDed girl's time. Girl's what's the plans will I ever see yall again!?!?!?

IS THIS A Wii????

For those of you who do not know, last Christmas I was looking for a Wii for hubby. He LOVED his play station but sold it when we got married...trying to be the adult he thought he needed to be. Soon after we moved in our new house, I began to notice that he missed that stupid little box that cost a lot of money and took up a lot of his time. So I thought you know for Christmas I should get him a Wii. That game system can work more than just his little fingers, could be pretty entertaining to watch him play, and we could have friends over for Wii parties. So the search began for this "wii". I started looking for a Wii at the beginning of November, thinking I was getting my shopping done "early". Little did I know that Wii's are one HOTT (yes with TWO 'T's) item. so long story short I looked for a good 8 weeks, then finally game up and 2 days before Christmas purchased him an XBox 360. Now, I have to say as much as I didn't want the 360, the two of us really enjoyed it. Then around the end of March we were robbed and guess what was gone the 360 (along with many other things). So then I had to look at my poor hubby depressed because the 360 was gone. Dont get me wrong he was thankful neither of us were home and got hurt and that it wasn't worse than it was but really he was depressed the 360 and his TV were gone. So, we replaced the TV and hubby said he did not want to worry about the 360. Then he got the itch so we started looking for a Wii..thinking it would be different and fun. But finding a Wii was a different story, there are NONE STILL!! So this Friday night on our way home hubby looks at me and says "lets check Best buy on the way home" I was like "come one Tee we looked ALL weekend last weekend there are none in Tally" so we pulled in and what did I see...a white box...with the word "Wii" on the front. It couldn't be, so I grabbed the box and ran to a Best buy employee and said "ma'am please dont laugh at me to my face but is this REALLY a Wii system" she giggled and told me yes....so now we HAVE A WII...and WE LOVE IT! I HIGHly recommended the Wii system to anyone who likes gaming systems but thinks America needs ore exercise because let me tell you after playing it for 2 hours last night my arms are SORE!!!!

My Mema!

My mema had skin cancer removed today and it was on her nose so her face could possibly swell and she could end up with a black eye for a little while. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she recovers from this. The doctor thinks they got it all but she has to go back in 4 weeks for a follow up and we will find out for sure then. Mema was doing great after the procedure today though, she requested "before you take me home Sissy I want Ming Tree" haha gotta love Mema!

BUNKO!

So last night was my first time playing BUNKO! It was Friday night, I had nothing to do (FINALLY) and had a LONG day at work so Tammy called asking me to sub and I SAID YES!!! The whole way to meet her I was thinking to myself "what the heck am I going to do when I get there, what is this game they call bunko". I have to say, I was very nervous about my first bunko experience, I dont like to lose at anything and I knew I would probably would not win which kinda bothered me. But at the same time I was really looking forward to learning the game and having fun!! So we got to the house where bunko was being played, we ate (some YUMMIE food I might add), talked for a little while then it was BUNKO TIME!! So, feeling like I was going into this game COMPLETELY BLINDED I sat down at the "head table" and rolled my first time. Didn't do that great but I had fun. Tammy, another lady, and myself all tied for the most wins...which meant we split the money and I came home with the same $5 I put in....so I didnt lose anything after all! And to top it all off I HAD A BLAST! It was very fun and a great way to end my crazy, busy, ready to pull my hair out WEEK. So today is Saturday (YAY) and we dont really have much planned Tee has a game at 4:00 (hopefully they will win) and thats pretty much it. Hope you girls have a great weekend!!

Camping Trip

So, I have finally made it home and back to blogging I go!! My ENTIRE family and I went camping this weekend for the 4th of July and to go to Disney World for my cousins birthday. For those of you who think going to the "happiest place on earth" for the 4th would be a GREAT idea...think again. We (Tee and I) spent $155 for one ride and some fireworks...yes ONE RIDE! The park was so busy Disney actually closed the gates and was not letting anyone else in. There was no more parking left...I have never seen Disney run out of parking...but as luck would have they did have the BEST firework show I have EVER seen!! We were there for 9 hours and only got to ride Pirates, eat Tacos, and watch the fireworks because there were too many people to even WALK! The worst part of the whole trip was Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain AND Space Mountain were ALL closed!! Those are the best rides there and you couldn't ride them! That was our first day there, then yesterday, Saturday, we went canoeing(is that a word?)...that was a BLAST! Tee and I have never done that before so the rest of the family (who got practice on Thursday) enjoyed laughing at us. We saw a gator the size of our canoe about a foot from us and my mema hit another gator with her paddle (by accident) a little scary but neat trip. All in all I would say we had a pretty good time camping...next time we go to Disney we will make sure it is in the off season...I NEVER want to be there again on the 4th of July! Sorry, I didnt take any pictures...I honestly forgot (I know can you believe that Tammy)?!?!?! But that was my long weekend now I am washing clothes, cleaning the house and getting ready for work tomorrow!!!

Thinking in the Future

Ok, so no I am not expecting (right now) but there is no reason to plan for the future! I recently had a miscarriage which I learned a lot from and one of the biggest things I learned is that anything can happen at anytime, so I have been planning, planning, and planning. When I found out I was pregnant I rushed out and purchased paint and lumber and COMPLETELY re-done our "office" into a "nursery" then I miscarried and my husband and I put back the office furniture and left it an office. Well, he has been saying it looks really empty...and I told him it was because it needs a baby in it! So we started looking for baby furniture and bedding. I know what you are thinking "most people have a baby on the way before they do this" but as many of you know me and my husband are NOTHING like most people we do things our own way. So I have included the two top choices of bedding we like. The black and white "Town and Country" we have picked if we have a little girl and the frog set for a little boy. What do ya think? I am SUPER excited and my favorite is the Town and Country. I LOVE IT! I want a little boy first but I really like that pattern best...but we will see what happens. My husband still projects us waiting until the first of the year to start trying again, so by that time these patterns could change another 100 times or so but for right now this is what we like!!!

As far as the rest of my day goes, same thing work and came home! Even though Tee and I went shopping for all the stuff for our camping trip this weekend, which by the way I am on count down for!! We leave in just 3 nights!!! Other than that HAPPY MONDAY ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT THIS WEEK!!!

Baseball Wife!!

So I am one of those baseball ladies...but I love it because it makes my hubby happy for me to sit there and cheer him on (even though they are not winning). Tonight was another game and I enjoyed it, other than the nasty weather. It was very yuckie outside which did not help my new hairstyle much. Yes, speaking of the hairstyle I did get it fixed...the best could be done anyway. It still is not what I would have picked for myself but it looks ALOT better than yesterday! She just cut layers all around and tried to fade everything together. It will work until it grows out. But other than getting my hair fixed and the baseball game I really didn't have an interesting friday!! But tomorrow will def leave me something to write about...so holla at ya then!! :-)

Can It Look ANY Worse?!?!?

Ok, so my blog name really comes from my hairstyle. If you do not know, I am not the person that can wait for things. Normally if I want it, I want it RIGHT THEN! Well, this morning while getting ready for work I got REALLY ticked at my hair. Already hating the way it looked, it was all grown out and everything else I just was at the end of my rope and it was time to do something about the nasty rag sitting on the top of my head. So I got to work, called the lil "Cost By Us" near my house and made an appointment. Now, I know what you are thinking "why did you go to a lil whole in the wall place" but this is the same place that fixed my bad-do last time. So I went, against my gut instinct that said 'something bad is going to happen', I went anyway. I get to this place and...have you ever looked at a hair dresser and wonder 'if your hair looks that bad then SURLY TO GOD you are not about to TRY to cut and style mine'...well that's what the lady looked like who cut my hair...matter of fact EVERYONE in there looked like that. But I sat in the cold seat, and let her begin CHOPPING at my hair. I was so nervous my back was soaked (and not from the rain outside) but I tried to remain calm thinking...'it cant be that bad..cant be'. So five minutes later, YES only FIVE minutes later, she tells me "lets dry these bangs and see what they look like"...SEE WHAT THEY look like, WOMAN you should know what they look like you just chopped them off! So she blows my bangs dry (just the bangs) and that is when the TEARS CAME! They looked HORRIBLE...I have seen mullets look better than my bangs looked (nothing against mullets). But I comforted myself by saying 'well the rest of my hair is still wet maybe that will help'...so she then asked 'want me to blow it dry'....YES PLEASE DO! So she blows it dry and MORE tears came it was getting worse by the minute. Needless to say, she RUINED my hair, charged me an additional $5 to blow it dry (didnt style it or even use a FREAKING BRUSH) PLUS another freaking $3 to 'wet the hair'.....if you are gonna dry dont wet it to begin with!!!!!!!! So, now that I have vented to my blog, I am now in search of a haircut to fix this thing on my head that some woman at Cuts by Us calls a 'hairstyle'. Any suggestions?!?! Lets just say, cant really cut the bangs any shorter because there would be NOTHING left and my hair was only trimmed to enough to get it all one length (thank goodness). So until I find a new hairstyle I will remain hidden inside my home!!

P.S.

I am posting the best pic from last night...our McDonald's laugh...smelly, dirty butt crack...Just say no Kids!!!

A Tuesday That Felt Like a Monday!!!

Ok, so I was off yesterday so today was my Monday and boy did it REALLY feel like a Monday. I couldn't wake up this morning, then when I got to work it seemed like ALL the crazy people wanted to call and YELL at me. Then I had a public records request to fill that the man DEMANDED I have done tomorrow. I had cases stacking up on my desk and my inbox was full of emails I STILL haven't read. WILL WE EVER HIRE A NEW RECEPTIONIST?? But Finally reached 5:00 and I was on my way home to see my hubby and my Pookie (speaking of Duke, he woke up Thursday feeling better and acting normal again, guess he was just sick). I didn't really have anything exciting to write about today but I wanted to remain faithful to the good ole blogger!! So, now its time for me to cook my hubby some dinner watch our tv shows. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a little more of a interesting day to share with you all.

What I Do On My Day Off

Ok, so I have been pretty bored today. For starters this morning my mom brought my cousin, Micayla over to spend the day with me. Then we went a played 9 holes of golf. By the way, yesterday I got a new set of pink clubs!! YAY, Tammy inspired me! :-) So, I hope with all the pink I have going on now, I will be inspired and play better golf. So, for the first time on the course I did ok with those pretty pink sticks! Then we went to Wal-Mart, where I am still in search of a pink golf glove size M. Let me know if you see one. After all that we came home and I cooked her lunch. So, now she is watching TV and I have been bored. So I got on the computer and played with some of my wedding pictures. Let me know what ya think!!! These are for you Tam...I finally found out how to edit my pictures! :0

New Layout

I think I have finally found a layout I like (and if you cant tell I am REALLY into black & white right now). What I have found out this morning while updating my layout, MANY times, is that every time you change your layout it deletes everything you previously set up. Or there could always be the possibility I don't know how to keep my changes and update my layout at the same time. So my layout will stay this way until I absolutely hate it.

Finally!!

Finally, I am DONE with school, well for the summer at least. I still have one class to go then I am done FOREVER! Thought it would never come. So, now that school is done (close enough) I can really get into this blog writing because I will be able to get home early enough to cook for my hubby, clean up, and then post for the day! Because I wasn't able to post this week I will fill ya in on the past week in Mrs. Dawkins life. For starters lets touch on that final I took Tuesday, yes I past...by the hair on my chin! Then Wednesday was the weekly girl's nite, which was great as usual! But I missed Erin :-( however we did get to chat with her on the phone which was GREAT. I love the time I get to spend with the girls! Plus I got to see lil baby Goram growing!!! Which brings me to FRIDAY, the day I know Momma Goram was counting down for but so was Aunt Renee! Then finally around 9:45 I get the text...ITS A GIRL!!! That just made my week. I am so excited and can not wait to meet the lil sweetheart. However my Friday was not so great at work, my hubby helped end it right. He took me bowling and then we rented movies and when we got home we baked cookies (chocolate chip of course) and my Friday was complete. So now we are at today, nothing really planned. Laying around the house, messing with my flowers in the yard (I may run to wal-mart and grab some new flowers to plant), spending time with my hubby (which is always my fav), and that is about it. Oh how could I forget, we are watching my parents dog, Nina, while they are in Jacksonville. Nina is a sweetheart but her and our dog (Duke) get to playing and running around the house so fast it seems like they are going to rip the carpet up with their nails. But it will be good for Duke because he was not feeling that well this week. I look forward to having more things to post about in the future as to my cheerleading season will begin on Thursday so I know I should have something to talk about from there. Until next time....

The Beginning

Hello All!!! This is my first posting and I am not really sure what I am supposed to write on here. Recently my life has been very crazy, after going through some rough times and not knowing what to expect next, I finally made it out of the bad times and my husband and I can finally see things picking up again. My husband is my world, he is the man who is there to make me smile when I think there is nothing to smile about, he makes me laugh when all I can really think about is crying, and most importantly he is the one who got me through those rough times with his passion and love for me! So, now looking up the moutain we are ready to climb, we are ready and are scared but we are stronger than we have ever been and we know that life is about to become more exciting than we could ever imagine . After everything that has happened and all projected to happen in our future, I thought now is the best time to start one of these blog things and share the joy of our life with all!!!

Hope you enjoy!
